Oct 19, 2012 · I too was skeptical about the Target Debit Card. I couldn’t figure out what Target was getting out of it. So i did some research. To sum it all up, 1.)Target will get purchase information from you that it will use to market to you. Jun 21, 2007 · target sent me the same letter, then sent me a $300 limit target card in the mail, a year later they upgraded me to a Target Visa, i used my card constantly, and always paid the amout due exactly, within 2 yrs i had a $5000 limit. that was 7 years ago of course now i have a $5000 charge off with Target, lol Jan 25, 2011 · I use my debit card at all retail establishments – as I have for over 10 years. Every trip to target, means I have to endure the “debit card” sales pitch at the checkout stand. Imagine my embarrassment on being denied when I finally decide to apply for a Target debit card.
