When using OpenVPN, TAP-Windows Adapter V9 says its unplugged after a few months. Ask Question Asked 2 years, 5 months ago. Active 3 months ago. Network cable unplugged just means that it can't connect. It is a symptom of the problem and not the problem itself.

Not sure why there is a red X mark on the Open VPN network I can see the Local area connection2 (TAP-Windows Adapter V9)and there is red X mark and it says Network cable unplugged. I restarted the open VPN services several times, I disabled IPV6 and did a repair on the adapter still I am not able to ping the IP addresses that was provided by the hosted guys. All ethernet adapters (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller and TAP-Windows Adapter v9 and Private Internet Access Network Adapter) show "Network cable unplugged". I have tried connecting different LAN cables. I have tried connecting the same LAN port to another computer and it works on the other computer, but not my computer.
